What is ADHD Coaching?
ADHD coaching is a specialized type of life coaching that uses specific techniques geared toward working with individuals with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. (ADHD is a diagnosis applied to children and adults who consistently display certain characteristic behaviors over a period of time. The most common behaviors fall into three categories: inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.) I work with you to help you manage your time, organize, set goals and complete projects. In addition, I can help you develop strategies to deal with specific challenges, and determine and use your individual strengths.

I also work with children and teenagers to help them with organizing and prioritizing school assignments; persisiting at tasks; studying for exams; completing homework; turning in homework; household chores; practicing music lessons (or other lessons); and any other tasks that are challenging. Coaching has proven to be extremely effective in helping children and teens accomplish goals and master lifelong skills, thereby increasing self esteem and self confidence for a happier and more fulfilling life.

What is the Process?
We start with a Life Assessment Questionnaire which you complete and email back. Then you and I have an initial consultation where we review the questionnaire and discuss how your symptoms of ADHD play out in your daily life. This initial consultation is free.

The first coaching session is when we develop an individualized plan with action steps and a timeline for identifying and achieving your goals. Then, we work together through regular interactions to implement those action steps. I provide recommendations, feedback, and practical techniques to address any specific challenges you may have.

The Time Frame of ADHD Coaching
The coaching process is unique for every individual, and thus the time frame varies from person to person.I work with some clients for short-term projects, and others for long-term goal achievement. Some clients develop new goals to work on together after others have been reached.
